LLUíS VILÀ. Banyoles
(Girona) 1952. Painter. Sculptor. He starts
in the late seventies, taking part in the
Collective Exhibition GRUP TINT-2 in the
Llotja del Tint in Banyoles. From the beginning
of his career until mid 80s he develops
his work in the field of research and the
installation, following the conceptual tendencies
of the "eat art" and the fungible
art. He carries out works like “LES
SABATES COMESTIBLES” also taking part
in Art 14'83 CIAC in Basel, “ENTRE
PA ENLLUÏT” at Miró Foundation
in Barcelona, “FAGOCITOSI” at
Montcada (La Caixa Fundation) in Barcelona
and "CAMBIO DE PIEL” in the Navarra

in the packaging of canned food, the “llaunes”,
shaping iron sculptures without volume,
and the design, adapting a language between
this one and the sculptural one, presented
at “La Sala Vinçon” in
Barcelona and in the “Sala Tránsito”
in Madrid. He is involved in several intemational
fairs, taking part in the design of the
Spanish Pavilion for the Seville Universal
Exposition in 1992. He develops “CLÀSTICS”
and also takes part in the remodelling of
the Croscat volcano in Olot (Girona), FAD
award, and he exhibits in “Capitals
del Disseny” at the George Pompidou
in Paris. A thing that becomes a constant
in his work is the use of fungible materials
and, his críticism targeted towards
the consumer society, which he understands
as finished, by the time of the “ÀLEF”
exhibition at Alter Ego Gallery in Barcelona.
From this time onwards, he integrates the
pictorial language and the sculptural one,
creating “CONTRARIS” and his
recent work “LOGOS”.
